The AR-15 handguard covers the barrel and gas system and gives the shooter a place to grip the rifle. It attaches to the upper receiver barrel nut or delta ring assembly and protects hands from barrel heat. Builders choose between drop-in, free float, and carbine-length styles to fit their build. M-LOK, KeyMod, and Picatinny rail versions accept lights, grips, and other accessories. It works with mil-spec upper receivers, gas systems, and barrel lengths. Shooters select one based on length, attachment system, and intended use.
