Free-float vs. drop-in handguard?

A free-float handguard mounts only to the barrel nut and doesn't touch the barrel, which improves accuracy and gives a continuous rail — the modern standard. A drop-in handguard clips into the factory delta ring and front cap; it's simpler and cheaper but contacts the barrel. Choose free-float for accuracy and accessory mounting, drop-in for a quick, low-cost setup.

M-LOK vs. KeyMod vs. quad rail?

M-LOK and KeyMod are slotted systems that keep the handguard slim and let you add rail sections where needed — M-LOK is the current dominant standard. A quad rail has fixed Picatinny on all four sides for maximum mounting but adds weight and bulk. Pick the system your accessories use; M-LOK is the safest for new gear.

What length handguard should I choose?

Match the length to your barrel and gas system — a longer handguard (15") covers more barrel and gives more hand/optic room on a 16"+ build, while shorter handguards (7"–10") suit pistol and lightweight setups. The rail should not extend past the muzzle device.

Will this handguard fit my rifle?
