NIB-X is WMD Guns’ proprietary nickel boron coating process applied directly to the bolt carrier group components. Nickel boron is an electroless coating that bonds at the molecular level to the steel substrate, producing an extremely hard, slick surface that dramatically reduces friction between the bolt carrier and the interior of the upper receiver. The reduced friction translates to smoother cycling, easier extraction, and a BCG that is significantly easier to clean than phosphate or parkerized carrier groups — carbon fouling wipes off the slick surface rather than bonding to it as it does with matte finishes. This BCG is sold without a hammer, making it ideal for builds where a separate hammer is already sourced or where a drop-in trigger assembly will be used.
