Spike’s Tactical AR-15/AR-10 308 Adjustable Gas Block

Looking for a top-quality, low profile gas block for your AR15? Look no further than Spike’s Tactical’s Adjustable Low Profile Gas Block. This gas block adjusts the gas flow by bleeding the gas out of the block instead of restricting the flow like conventional adjustable blocks. This reduces the pressure used in the block, allowing the system to run much cleaner and cooler and helping to cycle your rifle more efficiently. The gas adjustment screw doesn’t restrict the gas flow. So, there’s no erosion or seizing of the screw/no loss of detent due to carbon build up.

Although it is removable, we have added a safety mechanism. This stops you from unintentionally backing the screw all the way out. When using SBR’s and / or suppressors the bleed off port allows the excessive pressure to be exhausted out of the block reducing blow back. Plus, it can be adjusted to help reduce felt recoil. So, if you’re looking for a top-of-the-line gas block that will help keep your AR15 running smoothly and efficiently, pick up your ST Adjustable Low Profile Gas Block today!

An adjustable gas block allows the shooter to tune the amount of gas bled from the barrel to cycle the action, rather than relying on a fixed gas port setting. This is particularly valuable on suppressed rifles, where adding a suppressor significantly increases back-pressure and can cause the action to over-cycle — resulting in ejection issues, increased felt recoil, and accelerated component wear. Turning down the gas with an adjustable block when running suppressed restores normal cycling behavior and reduces bolt velocity. The .750-inch bore diameter matches the most common barrel outer diameter at the gas block seating area on government, M4, and heavy-profile AR-15 barrels — confirm your barrel’s outer diameter at the gas port before ordering. Installation requires sliding the block over the barrel to the gas port location and securing it with the included set screws against the barrel’s dimples.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I need an adjustable gas block?

An adjustable gas block lets you tune the gas flow to the action for suppressed or unsuppressed use, different barrel lengths, and different ammunition types. It is particularly valuable for suppressed rifles, where a suppressor increases back-pressure and causes the action to over-cycle with a fixed gas block.

What bore diameter do I need?

The .750-inch bore diameter fits government, M4, and heavy-profile AR-15 barrels at the gas block seating area. Lighter pencil-profile barrels typically measure .625 inch and require a .625 gas block. Measure your barrel’s outer diameter at the gas port before ordering.

How is it secured to the barrel?

The Spike’s Tactical adjustable gas block is secured by set screws that engage dimples drilled into the barrel. Confirm your barrel has the appropriate set screw dimples machined into it, or verify the attachment method is compatible with your barrel, before installation.
