AR-308 and AR-10 receivers come in two primary patterns — high-profile and low-profile — and handguard compatibility is specific to each. Low-profile pattern handguards fit the narrower receiver geometry of low-profile AR-10 designs and are not compatible with DPMS high-profile pattern uppers.
