A red dot magnifier mounts directly behind an existing red dot or reflex sight and boosts magnification — typically to 3x — without replacing the optic. A flip-to-side mount lets you swing the magnifier out of the line of sight in one motion, dropping to 1x for close-range use and back in for distance work. Magnifiers are eye-relief sensitive and need to be positioned at the correct distance behind the red dot to produce a clear, full image. Most QD flip-to-side mounts allow for fore-aft adjustment to dial in eye relief. For the magnifier and red dot to work together cleanly, they need to be at the same height above the rail. Most magnifiers are designed for low, medium, or absolute co-witness height red dots — check your red dot's height spec before ordering.
