Strike Industries Cookie Cutter 5/8″-24 300 Blackout / .308 Compensator Features

The Strike Industries Cookie Cutter compensator uses an aggressive, distinctive port geometry to redirect propellant gases as the projectile exits the muzzle, reducing muzzle rise and felt recoil for faster target re-acquisition on SBRs and AR pistols. The skeletonized body keeps overall weight low while the large port area allows effective gas redirection. This 5/8-24 version is for .30 caliber hosts including 300 Blackout and .308 Winchester; also available in 1/2-28 for 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington. Installation requires threading the compensator onto the barrel, timing with a crush or peel washer to the correct orientation, and torquing to the manufacturer’s specification using a proper barrel vise and armorer’s wrench — do not over-torque. The compensator must be properly secured to prevent rotation or loosening under sustained fire. Side concussion from this compensator is significant — be mindful of hand placement and who is standing nearby when firing.

What calibers is this compensator for?
300 Blackout and .308 Winchester, threaded 5/8-24. A separate 1/2-28 version is available for 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington.

Is side concussion really that noticeable?
Yes — the aggressive port geometry that reduces muzzle rise also redirects blast to the sides more than a standard flash hider. Be mindful of hand placement and bystanders when firing.

Do I need a crush washer to install it?
A crush washer or peel washer is recommended to achieve proper timing and alignment on the barrel.

What is it made of?
Hardened steel with a matte black finish for durability and corrosion resistance.

Will it fit my SBR or AR pistol?
Yes, it’s designed specifically to compensate muzzle rise and recoil on short barrel rifles and AR pistols where felt recoil is more pronounced.
