This 16″ 5.56 NATO unassembled AR rifle upper build kit pairs a 4150 CMV barrel with a 12″ M-LOK free-float handguard on a carbine-length gas system, finished in Zombie Green Cerakote. What’s the difference between this and the Zombie Green KeyMod rifle upper?
The barrel, gas system, upper receiver, and Cerakote finish are identical. The only difference is the handguard: this kit uses a 12″ M-LOK handguard; the KeyMod version uses a 12″ KeyMod handguard. M-LOK is the more widely supported standard today with the broadest accessory availability across manufacturers. If you have existing KeyMod accessories, go with the KeyMod kit.
What’s included and what’s not?
Included: Zombie Green Cerakote stripped upper receiver, 16″ barrel, 12″ M-LOK handguard, carbine-length gas system, A2 flash hider with crush washer, dust cover with door hardware, mil-spec forward assist, low-profile gas block, and stainless steel gas tube. Not included: bolt carrier group (BCG) and charging handle — both available as add-on options on this product page.
What lower receiver does this fit?
Any standard mil-spec AR-15 lower. The upper uses mil-spec 7075-T6 aluminum with standard M4 feed ramps and threading.
What gas system length does this use?
Carbine-length — standard for 5.56 NATO on a 16″ barrel.
Can I swap out the A2 flash hider?
Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2″×28. Unthread the A2 and install any compatible 1/2″×28 muzzle device — suppressor mount, compensator, or brake.
