Does the buffer tube assembly in this kit require any modification to fit my lower?
No. The mil-spec buffer tube threads directly into any standard AR-15 or AR-10 lower receiver that accepts a mil-spec carbine receiver extension. The end plate and castle nut install in the standard way. No modifications are required.
Is the XTS-106 cheek rest adjustable on both sides?
The cheek rest adjustment knob is on one side of the stock. The cheek rest itself is centered, so it provides support from both sides, but the height adjustment is controlled from a single knob rather than both sides simultaneously.
What is the advantage of the ambidextrous design on the XTS-106?
The XTS-106’s symmetrical layout means left-handed shooters can use it without modification. The sling mounting slots are accessible from both sides, and the cheek rest works equally well regardless of which shoulder you shoot from.
Can I upgrade to a QD end plate instead of the standard one included?
Yes. The standard end plate in this kit can be swapped out for a QD sling end plate at any time. Remove the castle nut, replace the end plate, and reinstall. The buffer tube, buffer, and spring remain in place.
