A drop-in trigger assembly installs into the AR-15 lower receiver as a self-contained unit, replacing the standard mil-spec trigger, hammer, and disconnector with a pre-assembled cassette that drops into the existing trigger and hammer pin holes. No additional fitting, stoning, or gunsmithing is required — the cassette is retained by the existing trigger and hammer pins and is compatible with standard mil-spec lower receivers. The finger stop trigger bow features a ledge or extension at the bottom of the trigger face that provides a positive index reference for the shooter’s finger, encouraging consistent finger placement on every pull. The finger stop helps prevent the finger from slipping below the trigger face during the pull stroke and provides tactile feedback that the trigger has been properly indexed before the press. This is particularly useful in high-round-count competition or training environments where maintaining consistent grip and trigger mechanics over extended strings of fire is a priority. The single-stage design provides a consistent pull from take-up to break with no distinct second stage or wall. The pull weight is set at the factory and does not require adjustment. Velocity Triggers drop-in assemblies are designed to provide a significant improvement over mil-spec trigger quality in terms of pull weight, reset, and overall feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this trigger fit my AR-15 lower receiver?

Velocity Triggers drop-in assemblies are designed to fit standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers using standard .154-inch trigger and hammer pin holes. They are not compatible with large-pin (Colt) lowers that use .170-inch pins. Verify your lower receiver uses standard mil-spec pin dimensions before ordering.

What does the finger stop do?

The finger stop is a ledge or extension at the bottom of the trigger face that provides a positive index reference for your finger, encouraging consistent placement on every pull. It prevents the finger from slipping below the trigger face during the press and gives tactile feedback that the trigger is properly indexed — particularly useful during high-round-count competition or training sessions where consistent grip mechanics matter over extended strings of fire.

What is a single-stage trigger?

A single-stage trigger has one consistent pull weight from the moment you begin pressing through to the break — there is no distinct lighter take-up phase followed by a heavier wall as found in a two-stage trigger. Single-stage designs are preferred for their straightforward, consistent feel and are widely used in competition and general-purpose AR-15 builds.
