Building an AR-15 pistol or upgrading to a braced configuration? The SB Tactical SBA5 in FDE gives you a fully adjustable five-position arm brace that installs on a standard mil-spec buffer tube — compatible with AR-15 pistol braces, ideal for 80% lower builds, and purpose-built for shooters who want versatility without sacrificing stability. At Daytona Tactical we stock it in FDE alongside the full range of buffer tubes and stocks.
SB Tactical SBA5 Pistol Brace FDE (SBA5-03-SB)
The SBA5 is SB Tactical’s flagship adjustable pistol brace. It mounts to a standard mil-spec buffer tube (sold separately) and adjusts through five locked positions, giving you a pull length ranging from approximately 10.5″ to 13.5″. The strap-based arm brace wraps around the forearm for added support during one-handed fire. The FDE version ships in a flat dark earth finish that pairs cleanly with FDE uppers, handguards, and furniture.

Q: What buffer tube does the SBA5 use?
A: The SBA5 mounts to a standard mil-spec receiver extension (buffer tube). Unlike some other SB Tactical models, it does not include a buffer tube — you’ll need to source one separately. Check our buffer tube assemblies for compatible options.
Q: Is the SBA5 compatible with an 80% lower build?
A: Yes. As long as your completed lower is mil-spec, the SBA5 works with it. Many customers pair it with an Anderson or Daytona Tactical 80% lower build. Just confirm your lower is finished with a mil-spec receiver extension pocket before ordering.
Q: How many positions does the SBA5 adjust to?
A: Five positions, adjusted via a push-button release. No tools required. Pull length ranges from approximately 10.5″ to 13.5″ depending on position, making it one of the more versatile braces in the SB Tactical lineup.
Q: Will the FDE color match my other FDE furniture?
A: The SBA5 FDE is a warm tan/flat dark earth polymer. It’s a close match to most aftermarket FDE handguards and grips, but exact shade varies by manufacturer. If you’re building a matched FDE pistol, we recommend comparing samples before final assembly.
Q: What’s the difference between the SBA5 and the SBA3?
A: The SBA3 is a three-position brace with a more compact profile — popular for ultralight and short pistol builds. The SBA5 adds two more adjustment positions and a more traditional stock-like feel with the arm strap. If you want maximum adjustability, go SBA5; if you want compact and minimal, go SBA3.
Q: Does the SBA5 come with a buffer, spring, and end plate?
A: No — the SBA5 includes the brace only. You will need to source a mil-spec buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring, end plate, and castle nut separately. Check our buffer tube accessories for compatible components.
