The STR is Magpul’s storage-capable carbine stock, built on a reinforced polymer A-frame, and the FDE finish is an easy match for tan and two-tone builds. It uses a friction-lock and cam-lock interface to cut the wobble you feel on a bare stock, adds an improved sloped cheek weld, and packs two water-resistant battery tubes in the butt that each hold a pair of CR123A or AA cells.
You also get a reversible push-button QD sling socket, 1.25″ sling loops, and a replaceable 0.30″ rubber butt-pad. The included buffer tube assembly handles the recoil system: a 6-position mil-spec receiver extension, a carbine buffer, the action (recoil) spring, a castle nut, and an end plate.
