Magpul Industries AFG Angled Fore Grip in Flat Dark Earth FDE
The Magpul AFG-1 Angled Fore Grip, the perfect grip for your M1913 Picatinny-railed hand guard. Compatible with most any M1913 Picatinny-railed hand guard, the Magpul AFG1 (Angled Fore Grip) FDE takes into account natural body mechanics and provides a comfortable and stable user interface that reduces fatigue and allows for more precise weapon control. By positioning the shooter’s hand high on the centerline of the bore, unlike conventional vertical fore grips, the AFG helps mitigate recoil and control the weapon to facilitate faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
All mounting hardware included, so you can easily install this grip on your hand guard. Plus, it’s made in the USA, so you know it’s a quality product. Get a grip on your shooting with the Magpul AFG 2 Angled Fore Grip! The Angled Fore grip provides a comfortable and stable interface that helps with fatigue and offers more accurate weapon control. The angled fore grip is not an FFL item.

The AFG-1 (Angled Fore Grip) positions the support hand at a forward-angled grip angle rather than the vertical position of a traditional foregrip, supporting a more natural thumbs-forward or C-clamp hand position. The angled design reduces wrist extension and hand fatigue during extended shooting compared to a vertical grip. The AFG-1 attaches to a standard Picatinny rail via a thumbscrew-secured clamp for tool-free installation and repositioning on AR-15 handguards, shotguns, and other railed firearms.
The AFG-1 mounts to any standard Picatinny rail section — either on the bottom of the handguard or on a rail adapter — using the included hardware. The angled surface of the AFG naturally positions the support hand in a high, forward thumb-over grip with a consistent index point for rapid re-acquisition of the firing position between shots. The grip angle also reduces the leverage the support hand places on the muzzle, which many shooters find helps control muzzle rise during rapid fire compared to a vertical grip. The AFG-1 is compatible with any Picatinny 1913 spec rail section and requires no modification to the handguard for installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an angled foregrip?
An angled foregrip (AFG) positions the support hand at a forward angle rather than vertically, supporting a more natural thumbs-forward or C-clamp grip technique. The angled design reduces wrist extension and hand fatigue during extended shooting compared to a vertical foregrip.
How does the AFG attach?
The AFG-1 attaches to a standard Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913) rail via a thumbscrew-secured clamp — tool-free installation that allows quick repositioning along the rail to find the optimal hand placement on the handguard.
What is the difference between the AFG-1 and AFG-2?
The AFG-2 is a shorter, more compact version of the AFG-1 with a reduced palm shelf length. The AFG-1 provides more palm shelf surface for a fuller hand contact, while the AFG-2 has a smaller footprint suited to shorter handguards or shooters who prefer a more compact grip profile.
