UTG collapsible stocks are built to mil-spec carbine tube dimensions and are compatible with any mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver paired with a mil-spec carbine buffer tube. The mil-spec buffer tube diameter of approximately 1.148 inches is the standard for mil-spec components — verify your buffer tube is mil-spec diameter before installing a mil-spec stock, as commercial-spec tubes (~1.168 inches) require a commercial-spec stock. The six-position adjustment allows the length of pull to be set for different body sizes, shooting positions, and the use of body armor or tactical gear. Assembly versions include the buffer tube, buffer, and recoil spring along with the stock, providing all components needed for a complete collapsible stock setup on a stripped AR-15 lower receiver. Installation is a direct replacement for any existing mil-spec carbine stock — slide onto a mil-spec buffer tube and secure with the stock latch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the UTG Pro Ops S1 stock?

The Ops S1 is a six-position collapsible mil-spec stock for AR-15 platform rifles, featuring a rigid internal structure and a rubber butt pad for recoil absorption and shoulder retention. The stock-only version requires a separately purchased mil-spec carbine buffer tube and buffer components for a complete installation.

What color is Flat Dark Earth (FDE)?

Flat Dark Earth is a warm, medium-brown earth tone widely used in tactical firearms and accessories. It coordinates well with FDE-finished lower and upper receivers, handguards, and hardware for a consistent color scheme on non-black AR builds. The FDE color on UTG stocks matches closely with most FDE-finished AR components.

What buffer tube does this fit?

The Ops S1 FDE stock is designed for mil-spec diameter carbine buffer tubes (~1.148 inches outer diameter). It is not compatible with commercial-spec buffer tubes. Verify your buffer tube diameter before ordering, as mil-spec and commercial-spec stocks are not interchangeable.
