Fortis Manufacturing built the AR15DstCvr-CF-BLK as a direct upgrade over standard polymer and stamped-steel dust covers. Machined from a solid piece of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with Type III hardcoat anodize, it fits any mil-spec AR-15 upper receiver. Made in the USA. Includes the spring and C-clip for standard installation.

Type III hardcoat anodize is the most wear-resistant anodize available — the same specification used on mil-spec components throughout the AR platform. Combined with 6061-T6 billet aluminum construction, the AR15DstCvr-CF-BLK is significantly more durable than polymer alternatives and provides a tighter, more consistent fit on the ejection port.

Yes. The this product replaces standard stamped-steel or polymer dust covers with a cover machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with Type III hardcoat anodize. It installs using the standard AR-15 dust cover hinge method with the included spring and C-clip.

What is Type III hardcoat anodize?

Type III hardcoat is an electrochemical process that produces a dense oxide layer on aluminum, significantly increasing surface hardness and wear resistance compared to standard Type II anodize. It is the same finish specification used on mil-spec AR-15 upper receivers and bolt carrier groups.
