The stock .308 bolt catch gets the job done. Barely. The pad is small. The lock heel is hard to hit under stress. Battle Arms Development built the Enhanced Bolt Catch to fix that.

This is a drop-in upgrade. It swaps right in for your mil-spec catch. No fitting, no filing, no fuss.

The control surfaces are the whole point. Both the release pad and the lock heel are bigger. They wear machined serrations — horizontal and diagonal — so your thumb finds them fast. A raised “T-shaped” heel gives you a clear, positive spot to lock the bolt to the rear. You feel it without looking. Reloads from bolt lock come quicker. Locking the bolt back is easier too.

It’s built tough. The body is investment-cast 8620 steel, heat treated for strength. A black phosphate finish keeps it protected and matches a mil-spec lower. Battle Arms also skeletonized it to shed weight it doesn’t need. The whole part comes in at just 0.53 oz.

It fits AR-308 / DPMS Gen 1 style receivers. That covers most popular makers, Aero Precision included. It also plays nice with the Norgon Ambi-Catch, so an ambi setup is still on the table.

Small part. Big difference at the range.
