Q: Is the 80% lower a functioning firearm?
No. An 80% lower is unfinished and not classified as a firearm. It requires machining before it can be built into a rifle. Jig and tooling are sold separately.
Q: What’s different about this kit versus the house Keymod version with 80% lower?
The handguard type. This one uses a 12″ riveted Keymod; the house Keymod version uses a one-piece free-float rail. The barrel, gas system, Magpul furniture, and 80% lower are the same.
Q: Is the upper pre-assembled?
Yes. Barrel, gas system, and the 12″ riveted Keymod handguard are already secured — just mate it to the finished lower.
Q: What caliber and twist rate does this kit use?
5.56 NATO with a 1:7 twist rate and a 16″ barrel on a carbine-length gas system.
