A front sight is the forward aiming reference of a firearm’s iron sights, used to align with a rear sight for accurate shots. On ARs, it can be a fixed A2 tower (often doubling as a gas block), clamp-on gas block sight, or rail-mounted flip-up. Works with: AR-15/AR-10 upper receivers, barrels/gas blocks, handguards (Picatinny for rail types), gas tubes (if integrated), and rear sights (fixed or flip-up). Ideal as primary or backup aiming with or without optics.
