These are AR-15 80% lower receivers that start as 7075-T6 forgings, machined to mil-spec tolerances and black anodized, with a laser-engraved design on the right side of the magazine well. Choose from stock artwork — American flag, Molon Labe, Don’t Tread on Me, Punisher, military branch logos, and deer, hog, and zombie designs — or add your own custom text. Model DT-15, multi-caliber.

Engraving details:

  • The selected design is engraved on the right side of the magazine well.
  • Fire/Safe selector markings are not included.
  • Optional left-side engraving is a standard identification mark in the format DT + your order number (e.g., DT-12345). More than one lower in an order adds a letter (A, B, C…). This mark is for your personal identification only — no records are kept, registered, or reported.
  • Custom engraving is reproduced exactly as written, so check your spelling. Limit 15 characters per line; more characters print smaller.

Standard markings: Made in U.S.A. · Model DT-15 · Cal Multi · Ser DT(order number)

Choosing a Laser Engraved 80% Lower

Every receiver in this category is the same forged, mil-spec AR-15 80% lower — the difference is the artwork and how you want it marked. A few things to decide before you order.

Stock artwork vs. custom engraving

Stock designs are ready to ship as shown — flags, Molon Labe, Don't Tread on Me, Punisher, service branch logos, and hunting and novelty art. If you'd rather have your own text, choose the custom engraving option instead. Custom text is engraved exactly as typed, up to 15 characters per line.

Right-side design vs. left-side identification mark

The right side of the magazine well carries the design. The left side is optional and carries a small identification mark — either the standard "DT + order number" format or your own custom text. These marks are for your personal reference; they are not a registered serial number, and Fire/Safe markings are not added.

The receiver underneath

Regardless of the engraving, each lower starts as a 7075-T6 forging machined to mil-spec AR-15 tolerances and is black anodized. It's marked multi-caliber (Model DT-15), so it works with standard AR-15 lower parts kits and components once finished.

Building it out

Pair your engraved lower with an 80% lower jig, a lower parts kit, and the rest of your build. Browse the full 80% Lower Receivers selection for plain and multi-pack options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the laser engraving a serial number?

No. The right-side artwork is decorative, and the optional left-side "DT + order number" mark is only a personal identifier we engrave at your request. It is not a registered serial number — no records of it are kept, registered, or reported. The item ships as an 80% (unfinished) lower receiver, which is not a serialized firearm.

Do you need an FFL to buy a laser engraved 80% lower?

At the federal level, an individual unfinished AR-15 lower sold on its own — not bundled as a complete parts kit with a jig and the parts needed to readily finish it — is generally not treated as a firearm and ships without an FFL transfer. This follows the 2025 U.S. Supreme Court decision Bondi v. VanDerStok, which upheld ATF's authority to regulate certain readily-completable kits while leaving individually sold unfinished lowers in place. Federal and state law are separate, and state rules on unfinished receivers vary widely, so confirm the current law where you live and how a specific product ships before ordering. Can I get custom text engraved?

Yes. Choose the custom engraving option and your text is reproduced exactly as you type it — check your spelling first. Each line is limited to 15 characters; longer text prints smaller.

What's the difference between the right-side and left-side engraving?

The right side of the magazine well carries the design or artwork you select. The optional left side carries a small identification mark (DT + your order number, or your own custom text). Fire/Safe selector markings are not included on either side.

Are these compatible with standard AR-15 parts?

Yes. They start as 7075-T6 forgings machined to mil-spec AR-15 tolerances and are marked multi-caliber, so they accept standard AR-15 lower parts kits and components once the receiver is finished.
